My grand-dog chewed a wooden pencil with colored lead. Will she be ok?

She was taken to an emergency vet and the vet told my dil that the dog would either live or die. Apparently, she ate all of the pencil, what do you think she should look for in the dog's behavior? Have any of your dogs eaten pencils before?

It will pass through it's system within 24 hours. If there is going To be a problem you will notice it within 10 to 12 hours if it has a problem in the small intestine. Watch it's stool, see if the pencil re-appears. Good luck
