What do small blue birds represent?

i dreamt that a small blue bird flew into my house and landed on my hand. I took it outside, but it flew back in and landed in my jeans/pants pocket.

What does that mean?

This seems to be a very positive, peaceful dream.

Something positive, perhaps happiness, is 'flying' into your life. It is like a gift to you. You're reaction is that you are not trying to cling to it or control it, rather you 'let it go' and perhaps you even feel like you don't deserve it.
However, it comes right back to you - into your pocket - meaning that it is for you to keep.
It reminds me of the saying - "if you love someone set them free. if they come back to you, they are yours. if they don't, they never really were."

to me birds represent freedom, happiness and songs of joy. blue is a calming peaceful colour.
