USB Ports Not Working! â How To USB Ports Not Working Problem In Minutes
USB ports not working? This is a very troublesome problem which bothers a lot of PC users. How can we fix this problem? The problem comes in two cases. You need to follow the steps below to fix it.
1. USB Device Driver Not Installed Properly or Corrupted.
When you attach a new device to your computer and get a message saying “USB Device Not Recognized†at the right bottom of your desktop, it means that you haven’t installed the driver properly. Normally, when you buy a new USB device like printer, scanner, camera or something else, there should be a driver installation CD. You should install the driver form the CD first. Or the device will not be recognized by Windows system.
Not only new hardware has the problem, but also old hardware can meet with it. Because driver files can be accidently deleted by some illegal operations or easily corrupted by viruses. And the incomplete driver files will lead to USB device not working problem. So you should reinstall the driver first.
2. USB Driver Outdated or Damaged.
If you attach a device to your computer and there is not even a green USB icon shows up at the right taskbar and the message “USB Device Not Recognizedâ€, it means that your USB 2.0 Driver is probably damaged. USB 2.0 driver is used for detecting and recognizing USB devices like printer, scanner, camera and so on. When it is damaged, Windows won’t be able to recognize the device and lead to USB port not working problems. To fix the problem, you should download and install a new USB 2.0 driver.
Normally, USB ports not working properly on Windows system results from outdated or damaged USB device and USB drivers. The only way to fix the problem is update the device and USB drivers properly.
